Here's a little animation project I did for a musical about Noah that was shown in Norway during summer 2025. It was displayed on a 38 meter wide ledscreen (12908 x 1680 pixels) behind the actors.
Here are some pictures of the performance of the scene:
Below a little breakdown video of how I did the 2D/3D effect of the ark.

Step by step:

1. I rendered the 3D object with camera movement in Blender, using cryptomattes for all the layers that I need.

2. I imported the cryptomattes into After Effects and separate them using the Cryptomatte effect and luma mattes. I also enabled time remapping and linked everything to 1 main keyframe layer so it was easy to adjust the timing in After Effects as the project evolved.

3. In this specific case, I only needed the outlines. So I gave the layers a black fill and a white stroke (Layer Styles).

4. I did some masking and layer order fixing, and trial and error (involving re-rendering in Blender) to put everything together. The main ark fill layer on top of everything got a dark gray color with Screen blendingmode (black = transparent, white = opaque).

5. I precomposed the whole thing and gave it a Glow effect (actually 3 different stacked Glows) and a Screen blendingmode, and put everything on top of the stars background.

And here's in short how I did the pole star effect:
