A short & fun little logo reveal animation I did for Nyttårscamp 2025. The logo itself was designed by the marvellous Timm Pope.
What I really loved about doing this one was letting the music lead the visuals. The final part of the piece ("Can can" by Budapest Art Orchestra) already gave me a good foundation of how the reveal should go. Add one acceptable visual concept to that and you're good, the rest is just executing the idea in a consistent way.
Here's a little breakdown of the techniques in After Effects:

So what I did:
-Zoomed into the logo (different part for every shot) and animated the position
-Added an Adjustment Layer with a Gaussian Blur effect on it (Camera Lens Blur could be even nicer, but is quite heavy to work with)
-Added a black layer with an animated mask on it, with looooads of feather. Usually animating in the opposite direction of the logo.
-Added an Adjustment Layer on top of everything with a nice & soft Glow effect.
-I didn't show it here, but I also added a veeeeery soft and distant drop shadow to the letters to give them some more depth.
Hope you liked it!
